GCSE and A-level pathways by school stage

Berkhamsted has a sequence of separate schools, not one curriculum at every age. Both Berkhamsted Boys and Berkhamsted Girls describe GCSE courses in the senior years, alongside the school’s Learning Pathway Programme. The coeducational Berkhamsted Sixth describes A levels as its main qualification route, usually three subjects. Nursery, pre-prep and prep have distinct younger-stage provision; confirm the relevant campus and course choices before applying.

Standard school registration — non-refundable£224
UKiset entrance test — non-UK applicants, instead of school registration£295
Acceptance deposit — each pupil accepting a place£2,500

The standard registration charge includes VAT. For non-UK applicants, the school states that £295 is paid directly to UKiset for the entrance test and the Berkhamsted registration charge is not required; the two entry charges are alternatives. The £2,500 acceptance deposit includes any applicable VAT and is separate from registration and tuition. For UK-based parents, £1,000 is credited against the first invoice and the balance is held until leaving under the current terms. For a pupil normally resident outside the UK, the terms say the acceptance deposit is retained until leaving. Refunds and any additional deposit depend on the applicable offer and terms.

These are the 2026/27 VAT-inclusive termly charges shown by the school, not prices per 40-minute lesson. Lesson duration describes the format; the schedule does not establish a universal lesson count. EAL, specialist lessons, hire and activities depend on the pupil’s provision and choices. The starred tuition and subscription items are paid termly in advance; the school requires a term’s written notice to discontinue the listed classes or activities.
