Transfers and examination years

The admissions policy says Year 13 entry is not usually accepted because A-level and IB courses span two years. When transferring, send the current timetable and reports so the team can check continuity. Admission to a school network should not be taken as confirmation of a place on a particular campus.

About British School in the Netherlands — Senior School Voorschoten

Senior School Voorschoten is one of the British School in the Netherlands’ secondary campuses. The senior pathway begins with the English curriculum and GCSEs, followed by several sixth-form options. Voorschoten is separate from the junior schools and Leidschenveen.

Secondary and sixth-form routes

Years 7–9 follow an adapted English National Curriculum. GCSE examinations are taken in Year 11. From Year 12, the BSN publishes A-level, BTEC, IB Diploma and IB Career-related routes. Ask Voorschoten to confirm the subject combinations and course availability for the planned intake.

Leaving notice, refunds and late-notice charges

Formal notice is submitted through the school’s leaving form. The 2026/27 deadlines are 25 September 2026 for leaving at autumn’s end and 22 January 2027 for spring’s end. Timely notice allows reimbursement of two terms or one term respectively. For autumn departures, late notice by 6 November 2026 makes 50% of the next spring term payable; from 7 November, 100% is due. The page still gives different summer notice dates: 22 April 2027 in its summary and 23 April in its detailed rules. Confirm the summer deadline in writing.

Application and budget details

For the secondary years, the 2026/2027 school fee is €27,498 in Years 7-9, €28,500 in Years 10-11 and €28,998 in Years 12-13. A capital fee is separate. The school fee includes compulsory trips, including residential trips, for up to ten days a year, and curriculum exam entry costs. Non-curricular exams may cost extra. Mid-year entry is calculated in half-term units, while leaving reimbursements use whole terms and depend on timely notice.

Capital fee and first-year extras

For 2026/27, the published Senior School capital fee is €2,800 each year, on top of the school fee. New entrants also pay a one-off €2,500 enrolment fee. A basic first uniform set is estimated at about €250; sports kit may cost more. School transport and spending at the senior school cafe are extra. These charges mean the tuition figure alone is not the full family budget.

Annual invoices and staged payments

Returning pupils’ annual fees are due in August before the September start. New pupils starting in September are invoiced within their first month. Parents whose circumstances prevent a single annual payment can apply to the Finance Department for an exceptional staged payment arrangement; the school says it does not offer fee discounts.
