Waitlists and examination-year restrictions

On 13 September 2026, CLIP’s admissions page stated that 2026/27 applicants were being waitlisted. It does not accept new pupils into Forms 10 or 12, the final IGCSE and A-Level years. Siblings and children of alumni have priority; a non-refundable pre-registration payment does not guarantee a place. The school requests a reference from the current school.

Language and admission requirements

English is the teaching language in every year group. English as an Additional Language support is available. Applications include school records and an interview or assessment; pre-registration does not guarantee a place. The published 2026/27 intake lists Pre-K children born in 2023, Kindergarten in 2022 and Reception in 2021.

Research connects subjects at CLIP

CLIP Oporto International School adapts the National Curriculum for England for its community in Porto. Its teaching model uses conceptual learning, asking students to connect ideas across subjects rather than treating each subject as an isolated body of facts.

In middle school, Learning Through Research is a named part of the programme that brings inquiry and subject knowledge together. The curriculum pages also describe formative assessment and feedback intended to guide the next steps in learning. During a visit, ask to see examples from the relevant year group and discuss how an incoming child’s language needs are supported.

Siblings and children of alumni receive preference; other offers depend on application order, assessment and places. Paying the non-refundable pre-registration fee does not guarantee entry.
