Joining the school

EISB describes education from 9 months to 18 years. Families arrange a visit, apply and provide school records and relevant support reports. Academic assessment is used for school-age entry. The school offers Cambridge Primary and IGCSE, followed by Spanish Baccalaureate, IB Diploma or American High School Diploma routes.

Language and learning support

A multilingual school in Sant Cugat

European International School of Barcelona is based in Sant Cugat del Vallès and provides an educational pathway from nursery through baccalaureate. Its published approach emphasises multilingual learning and support tailored to the student. The campus includes sports and performing-arts facilities.

The important admissions question is which academic route and language balance apply to the child’s intended year. “Multilingual” does not mean every subject is taught equally in every language. Ask for the timetable and progression options for that stage, then compare them with the child’s current schooling and the qualifications they may need later.

Learning and qualifications

Registration, included services and additional costs

For 2026/27, new-family enrolment is EUR 450 for Nursery, EUR 650 for Infant and EUR 1,150 for Primary, Secondary and Baccalaureate. Primary and Secondary admission assessment costs EUR 110. Annual re-enrolment is EUR 390 for Nursery, Infant and Primary, EUR 430 for Secondary, and EUR 520 for Baccalaureates and AHS. International Homeroom language adaptation, assigned after internal assessment, costs EUR 165/month for up to seven hours/week or EUR 220/month for eight to twelve hours/week. Speech therapy costs EUR 45/hour. Baccalaureate, IB and AHS lunch costs EUR 12/day. Text and digital books are purchased separately as advised by the school. Curriculum-integrated overnight experiences have additional estimated charges, with final prices confirmed before departure.
