Fees and the first-year budget

The European Schools’ 2026/27 guidance exempts Category I pupils from school fees. Category III tuition depends on cycle and first-enrolment date; the amounts below apply to pupils newly enrolled as Category III from 2013/14 onwards. For 2026/27, Brussels Category III enrolment is restricted to qualifying siblings. Category II uses financing agreements. Confirm eligibility and the actual bill with the school; these figures are not a generally available price.

Payment and sibling fee rules

The 2026/27 school fee sheet requires a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the annual tuition as a condition of enrolment or continued studies; it is part of the annual fee, not a further 25% on top. For more than one child at the school in the same category, the post-August 2013 tariff is reduced to 80% for the second child and 60% for subsequent children. For the earlier cohort, the second child pays 50% and subsequent children the stated minimum tariff; do not replace that minimum by a guessed percentage. Families in financial difficulty can request partial relief or instalments, with no guaranteed entitlement.

School costs with conditional or pending quotations

The 2026/27 school-charge sheet leaves P 2 swimming to be defined. For certain S 1/S 2 groups, swimming is quoted at €48, €54 or €60 according to the number of lessons. Compulsory S 2 and S 6 spring trips and the S 5 Biology Field Trip are invoiced separately without amounts in this sheet. The published charges are annual per pupil, but a complete family total requires the correct year group and services; missing prices are not zero.

Fees, categories and admission conditions

The ordinary Category III column for first enrolment from 2013/14 also covers eligible continuing pupils; it is not restricted to first-time applicants in 2026/27. Category I tuition exemption does not mean all services are free, and Category II depends on a financing agreement rather than a generally available family price. For new ordinary Category III applications in 2026/27, Article 7.4 requires a sibling who attended the Brussels school throughout 2025/26 and continues in 2026/27, the relevant school/site with a place in the requested section and year, a class below the stated 24-pupil threshold, and consideration in the second or third phase. The tuition tariff itself gives no right to a place.
