What learning support can provide

Leighton Park offers classroom adjustments, small-group help and individual sessions through its learning centre. Small groups have up to four pupils. Individual support is usually a separate weekly session and can cost extra. The school does not provide teaching assistants or one-to-one support during ordinary classes. Discuss your child’s needs during admission, especially if they currently rely on that help. Exam access arrangements need approval under the relevant rules; the school does not charge extra for these arrangements. Agreeing EAL and learning support before an offer

The school confirmed on 20 October 2026 that entrance-test results inform whether EAL support is advised. Effects on other course choices depend on the level of support required and the pupil’s progress. If both EAL and ILC support are needed, staff check timetable compatibility before offering a place. If the required support cannot fit the timetable, the school may be unable to offer a place. Specialist staff assess each pupil individually; this is not a guarantee of support capacity or admission.
