Joining the school

Families begin with an enquiry and school visit, then submit a registration form and the two latest school reports. Applicants for Years 3–10 also provide a writing assessment. Early Years and Reception children attend a play date. From Year 1, a taster morning includes English and maths assessments and time in lessons; a medical form is required before the visit. The final checks include a current-school reference and safeguarding information.

British education on the Costa del Sol

The English International College in Marbella provides a British pathway through early years, primary, secondary and sixth form. Its primary information identifies specialist teaching in computing, music and physical education alongside the wider class programme.

For younger pupils, those specialist lessons provide a concrete starting point for questions about the weekly timetable. Older applicants need to review the relevant secondary or sixth-form courses and entry requirements. Compare provision at the child’s actual stage rather than assuming that features described for primary apply unchanged throughout the school.

Learning and qualifications

The English International College follows the British curriculum, leading to IGCSEs and A Levels. English is the main teaching language. Pupils have Spanish four times a week; French starts in Year 5, and Year 7 pupils choose French or German. These additional language lessons are separate from the main teaching language.

Campus and daily life

All pupils start at 8:45. Primary finishes at 15:30 and secondary at 16:00. The school has an on-site kitchen preparing lunch. Swimming begins in Early Years with qualified swimming teachers. School tours run on weekdays between 09:00 and 15:00. Applications traditionally arrive from January to March, but the school says it also tries to accommodate applications during the rest of the year.
