The school lists ages 3–19. Placement follows its age policy, and a grade can have a waiting list. Primary school runs 08:30–14:55 and secondary school finishes at 15:15. The school does not require a uniform. Ask admissions to confirm the intended class and entry date.

About Vienna International School

Vienna International School offers an IB pathway from early learning through secondary school. Its English-language support and individual learning support have distinct arrangements and charges. It is a different school from American International School Vienna, with a separate address and admissions process.

Primary and secondary IB programmes

Primary learning follows the IB Primary Years Programme. German is a language subject from Early Learning Centre through Grade 5, with teaching adapted to the pupil’s level. This does not mean that every class is taught bilingually.

English and individual support fees

English Language Acquisition costs €870 per semester in the 2026/27 schedule, with an exemption for specified Vienna-based organisation and diplomatic families. Full individual learning support is listed at €52,480. Ask which service and charge apply to the child; these are not universal tuition additions.

Application and budget details

VIS normally invoices enrolled families by 30 June. Full payment is due by 30 August unless an instalment plan was selected. The published instalment dates are 30 August, 30 October, 30 January and 30 March; graduating Grade 12 pupils finish payments in January. Confirm the invoice and enrolment terms for any mid-year arrival.

Deposit return, included trips and instalments — 2026/27

Application, admission and capital fees are one-time and non-refundable. The €620 deposit is held until withdrawal or Grade 12 graduation; return requires clearance, returned property and a written bank-account request within three years. Missing the re-enrolment deadline or changing YES to NO after it forfeits the deposit. Annual tuition covers ten full months and category A/B school trips. Category C/D trips, external tests, IB retakes and certain activities are additional. ELC–Grade 11 instalments fall on 30 August and 30 October 2026, then 30 January and 30 March 2027. Grade 12 has three €9,720 instalments ending on 30 January. Use the printed annual figures rather than multiplying rounded instalments.
