Language and learning support

The fee schedule lists English-language enrichment at €25 a session and learning support at €30 a session. Families should agree the number of sessions and provision before budgeting. From primary onward, lunch is charged separately at €440 or €480 per term depending on the stage. Exams, some classroom supplies, devices, activities and trips add further costs.

Teaching language depends on the pathway

The Portuguese national preschool pathway uses Portuguese as its main language of instruction, while the international preschool pathway immerses children in English. At middle-school level the school describes English and Portuguese as separate language subjects and says other subjects are taught in the language of the chosen pathway. The IB registry records English as the Diploma Programme language of instruction. Confirm the child’s particular class and pathway with admissions; this is not a claim that every class is taught in both languages.

Portuguese and international pathways in the Algarve

Vilamoura International School offers both Portuguese and international educational pathways for ages 3 to 18. The international route begins with an adapted British primary curriculum, continues through Cambridge secondary qualifications and leads to the IB Diploma.

The two routes give families different questions to resolve about language and later qualifications. Discuss where they diverge, whether a transfer between them is possible and which subjects are available for older students. Read the fee schedule for the chosen route and age group, then confirm admissions requirements for the intended start date.

The official Maps and Directions link points to Sítio das Quintinhas, Vilamoura. The footer separately lists postal box APT 856. Use the directions link when planning a visit and confirm the entrance with admissions.

Day school

The school’s admissions FAQ explicitly says CIV is a day school only. The IB registry also labels the Diploma Programme provision as day, rather than boarding.

Fees and the first-year budget

Vilamoura publishes separate international and Portuguese national fee schedules for 2026/27. The comparison price uses international Nursery/Reception at €8,850. Annual student insurance is included; lunch is included in Early Learning and kindergarten. New enrolment costs €450 and re-enrolment €300. Termly and monthly payments add a 3% administration charge. Early Learning uses 11 monthly instalments; other stages use ten.

Application and budget details

Tuition reductions for younger siblings are 10% for the second child, 15% for the third and 20% from the fourth. Bus routes are preliminary and require enough subscribers. The published circuits include Vilamoura, Quarteira, Albufeira, Almancil/Loulé, Montenegro, Faro and Olhão; confirm the final pickup point and tariff. Mid-term entrants should request a written calculation because charges depend on whether entry is before or after the relevant half-term break.
