Ten schools, different routes through education

This is a selected comparison of researched profiles, not a complete regional directory or a ranking. Fees below are examples for different stages, so they must not be compared as if they covered the same child.

Choose the educational pathway first

St. Dominic’s and International Sharing School describe the IB continuum. CAISL combines an American pathway with an IB Diploma option; TASIS moves through Core Knowledge and Singapore Math to IGCSE and IB. United Lisbon describes international programmes before the Diploma. An “IB” label alone therefore does not tell you what a seven-year-old will study.

St. Julian’s offers English and bilingual routes. PaRK Alfragide offers bilingual or English learning in the younger years and a choice of senior qualifications. Redbridge separates French, Portuguese and Cambridge pathways. Read the linked profiles for the programme available at the intended entry stage.

Compare the full first-year bill

Choose one academic year and the correct grade in each school’s fee table. Add application and enrolment charges, any capital or building fee, meals, transport, uniforms, devices and examination charges. A refundable or tuition-creditable deposit should be separated from a fee that increases the total cost.

For example, CAISL publishes a building charge over the first five years from Grade 1; TASIS lists a one-time campus enhancement fee from Kindergarten; Sharing School lists enrolment and renewal fees. The sourced profile tables explain their different tuition inclusions.

Separate Lisbon city from the wider region

United Lisbon and Redbridge are listed in Lisbon. CAISL and TASIS are in Sintra; Sharing School is in Porto Salvo and OIS is in Barcarena–Oeiras. St. Julian’s is in Carcavelos, St. Dominic’s in São Domingos de Rana, King’s in Cascais and PaRK in Alfragide. Check the actual entrance: PaRK lists different addresses for its younger and senior pupils, while Redbridge’s secondary admissions information refers to Tapada da Ajuda.

Test the route at school-run time and ask about a confirmed bus stop. This guide does not estimate journey times or assume that all these campuses are within an acceptable commute.

Check entry-year restrictions before applying

TASIS restricts Grade 10 transfers to compatible IGCSE courses. St. Julian’s generally excludes entry into the final examination year of IGCSE or IB programmes. King’s 2026/27 schedule now covers Year 13; confirm the available qualification and subject combination for senior entry. Each linked profile gives the source and the date checked.

Build a shortlist you can act on

  1. Remove programmes that do not offer the required entry year.
  2. Compare language support with your child’s current needs.
  3. Request the same itemised fee breakdown from each school.
  4. Visit the correct campus and check the daily journey.
