ISLK links families to these municipal preschool and after-school care charges. From 1 July 2026, SEK 10,000 is deducted from household income before the percentage fee is calculated. The youngest child counts as the first; the fourth child has no care fee. The preschool age 3–5 rate starts in September of the year the child turns three, and the after-school rate starts in August of the year the child turns six. Households at different addresses have specific invoicing rules. Ask the municipality which assessment applies to your family. These are care fees, separate from tuition-free schooling.

Tuition-free schooling and eligibility

ISLK is funded by the City of Lund and charges no tuition or school fees. Admission remains subject to the school’s intake criteria and available capacity. If your family lives outside Lund, the other municipality must agree to pay the school charges to Lund before admission is secured. Preschool and after-school care have separate municipal charging rules, so confirm the services and household assessment that apply to your family.

After School Programme fees and cancellation

The After School Programme is a fee-based service for care outside regular school hours. Both parents must be working or studying during the hours used, and the application requires income details, proof of occupation and work or study schedules. The fee uses the family’s total gross taxable income, including income earned abroad, and is charged for all 12 months of the year. To leave, give written notice two calendar months before the last attendance date; the school says the fee is charged for 60 days from the day notice is handed in. Ask the school office to confirm your start date and final bill.
